和裁 ・ わさい ・ wasai
Sewing, referring specifically to Japanese style sewing. Kimono sewing. A recent term to distinguish (traditional) Japanese style sewing from western-style dressmaking.
The term is an abbreviation for wafuku saihou (和服裁縫), literary Japanese dressmaking (or kimono sewing). Saihou (裁縫), the more general term for dressmaking or tailoring refers to both Japanese and western-style sewing.
Another common term for tailoring is shitate (仕立て・したて).
