Suzu

鈴 ・ すず ・ suzu  |  れい ・ rei  |  鐸


Round Japanese (jingle) bell. Small bells used in Shinto rituals. The bell is ball-shaped with a slit at the bottom and contains a small (metal) pellet that makes a sound when the bell is shaken. Used as a good luck charm. Used as a lucky pattern. 

Sometimes suzu are attached to geta.
